i am wondering which is the best knot when joining leader to braid i currently use an improved albright (10 turns up and back) and does tieing a bimini twist help all that much

For me it's a 5 turn Surgeon's. Never failed.

Modified Connector knot. Ties similar to the "Slim Beauty".

Uni in leader around braid. 3 or 4 turns, tightened and moistened, with about 5 inches of braid out. Then wrap the braid 8 times down (away from the uni), holding the wrap next to the uni open with a finger. Then wrap 8 times back up (towards the uni), overlapping the previous 8 wraps. Tuck the tag through the open bit next to the uni, seat it, moisten thoroughly, and darw it up in a smooth motion, pulling on the mainline and the tag.

I use this knot exclusively, and it serves me well. In braid 6lb and below, a Bimini'd double prevents the line cutting the leader. Tag ends can be clipped very close to the knot. Flies through the guides with ease. I find it helps a lot to keep the leader taut by passing it under your knee and gripping it with your leg as you tie.
