Supporting weight in the bow

Just wondering how people support the bow of their tinnys on the trailer.

I have the deep cycle up front and need to somehow support the bow more with skids or an adjustable roller. I think quintrex do an adjustable bow support bracket/rolller setup on the bigger tinnys around 4.5?

Any pictures of your setup would be appreciated

There was another thread dealing with cracks developing inside Quintrex hulls. I'm thinking it maybe a contributing factor if the bow is not supported properly on the trailer, especially if the trailer is after market or not designed specifically for the hull, coupled with the extra weight from a deep cycle placed up front.

I'm looking for ideas to sort it before a long trip starts the cracks developing. Anyone with a quintrex trailer that has an adjustable roller up front? And also anyone know where I can source the parts? I've tried Martins Trailer Parts with no luck.

You can see from the photo there is a large distance between the front roller at the bottom of the keel and the bow of the boat

Stu, ring Tow-Safe and speak to Tony or Roland and say that Carol sent you, they'll look after you. They are in Osb Park. They sell all trailer parts including ones for boats and are also Dunbier dealers.

ah easy fix mate, buy a roller, pin, and a longer mount and just position it and get it welded. I can't see the need for anything flash there.

Thanks Mark. Funny thing is I bought the parts you showed in the photo but the trailer is 75mm square tube and that roller bracket is 100mm so it won't work. I'm going with an adjustable socket bracket that can be moved up and down and adjusted to the correct height.

Try these links, no one seem to stock gear for the 75mm draw bar, don’t know why their pretty common. Trojan parts I’ve ordered from Repco and they arrived in less than a week, still waiting to hear from the boat dealer about some parts from dunibar but it’s taken about two weeks by mail to get parts direct from the trailer repair centre in the past.

Thanks for those sites Charlie. I'll have a browse when I get a chance. This is the bracket I need but it will be difficult to mount on the trailer frame (as per the above photos.

Just in case any one is interested. I found a 75mm bracket as per Marks photos which should sort out the dramas. All Boating Equipment in Bayswater had the bracket all in one for $59

Won't need support. Just enough to take pressure off the internal welds
