firelin lifespan, leader length and best knot

hey guys,

i am just wondering the lifespan of fireline. I was also wondering how long you leader should be and what the best knot is to to the leader to the mainline

hey Andrew.
I've heard of fireline lating over half a decade so i wouldn't worry bout that too much. Basically, you'll prolly loose too much line and need to replace it, before it goes "off"!!!
As for the leader knots, i'd go with a Uni to UNi know, with 7 truns in the firelin and 4 in the mono.
Have a look through the Leader section, as there are plenty of threads in there about leaders.

ps: you can reverse fireline on the spool and double its lifespan!!!
