Just wondering wot sort of battery charger you recommend using for a deep cycle sealed lead acid battery.(100ah).I have a charger that has the ability to trickle or heavy charge but do i require one that is a little smarter

I use a ctek 7000 (7 amp) for my deep cycle (3 stage)

Have found it to be excellent

Do a search on charger - there is plenty of discusssion on what's available

thanks stu, i actually did the search after i put the post up.The charger i have has a 2a trickle charge and a 12.5 a heavy charge.from what i can understand if i use the 12.5a heavy charge that should suffice.

yeah they sure can take a bit of getting use to.
i reckon the secret is to use it on the slow speeds for a while until you get use to what you are doing.
slow and steady as she goes!

Guest dual battery charger mounted in boat, just plug in to mains and forget, running 24volt to 65 kota with two gel tech batteries.

If you don't have the money for the more expensive sounders, then one worth looking at is the WAECO range. I've had mine for a few years and it's been really good.

the charger i have is a pro user and is a supercheap auto charger, it has a heavy 12.5a charge and a 2 amp trickle, wot i do is charge it on heavy and when it cuts out and cycles on/off i then put it on trickle to top up
