Bout time I introduced myself. But first I'd like to say what a great site this is, full of friendly people, great advice, sharing knowledge and lending a hand to new chums t the sport. This is a model that other related sites should try to emulate.

I live in Albury NSW which is a bloody long drive from the nearest Bream hole, bout 3 hours to Melbourne. I fish mainly for trout but chase natives like cod and yellow belly occasionally.

I make several trips every year to Bonney Hills, which is near Port Macqarie and just love spinning creeks like Lime burners, Maria river, Camden Haven river, Bobs creek etc. I have used mainly hard body lures and have been lure casting for Bream, Bass, and EP, for about 20 years. I still have a few Bennet McGrath lures which were the forunner of the attack minows. These old BG lures have bibs made of colour bond roofing iron! but they work a treat. I lost one the other day on a big fat yellow belly - made me cry.

My old fishing mate Peter Steen who was living at Narooma introduced me to real Bream casting about 13 or 14 years ago. He had a fantastic boat with elec motor, purpose built for casting. Now they are common and I have fulfilled my dream to own one by buying a Quinnie 445 Wildfisher.

Steeny and I are old fishing pals who used to hit the montain streams and upper murray chasing trout. Once lure casting is in your blood its hard to shake and chasing bream is the same but different, if you get my meaning, to spinning for that monster brown. Steeny is quite an accomplished Bream caster and I leant a lot.

I am involved in environmental science now but I am an old plumber by trade. I'm interested in policy affecting natural resource management and particularly interested in policy related to professional fishing (for the market, not guides), and recreational fishing.

Thanks for the great site and I hope to see some of you at some of the comps when I get to them.

thanks
pete
