Mate i use alot of vanish and it's worth what you pay for. But a suitable option at a much cheaper price would be some Seaguar fluorocarbon. I use this every now and then and it works well.

I used to use vanish until I was introduced to a "better" leader.

I found the abrasive quality of vanish not as good as this leader that I use now.

I now use, and have been for quite a while now, yamatoya rockfish or razor leader at 6lb.

Have you tried that Dell? Try it and see what you think compared to vanish.

I've been using the Yamatoyto for a few years now and I'm yet to find better for me. I do believe in you get what you pay for.

I haven't tried Nitlon leader yet. I've stuck with Yamatoyo leaders for a little while now, and can use them even when they're scuffed up. They still hold brilliantly.

I'll be going to use Siglon and Nitlon soon to just use some other leaders around. I know they are well rated just as the Yamatoyo leaders.

Between Vanish and Nitlon there is no comparison. Nitlon rocks!!

Being the only 2 brands of leader I have used with any regularity I cannot speak with any authority on other brands, but I am a HUGE fan of Nitlon and have no qualms handing over the money to buy it as I know the product is great.

I did used to buy some small 10 and 20 metre spools of flurocarbon when I was first getting into breaming as the local store was quitting it, but I cannot remember what it was.

As for Vanish... I bought a spool of 6lb and 12lb, and after a few tries with it put it on the shelf in the shed.

Well, I really like the Yamatoyo. But I am testing out Line Systems in 6 and 8lb and I am very impressed so far.

Very abrasive-resistant and ties well. It is also thinner than other leaders I have used.

yeah I've used the Owner FC in 6lb.
I am a big fan so far. Will continue to give it a good work out over the next few sessions. Thumbs up from the small amount of use it's had so far.

i have changed my mind about the yama fluro.

on the weekend i cast off a jackall on a knot i had just tied then got cut off when i was just winding my lure past a rock then got smoked on the drop by a fish that i had no waght on.

line systems in 6-8lb for me.

Sure it wasn't your crappy knots :p :D

Haven't tried the Line Systems fluro, but I love the braid.

Went on a leader "binge" ie. every tackle shop I go to, first thing I look for is a new leader spool. Started with using normal Vanish which I thought was good enough until I lost 2 lures in a row in one session when a little pressure was put on my 8 lb leader. Turned out to be a bad batch and looked for alternatives. So far I've used Fluorocarbon from Seaguar, Nitlon, Climax, Momoi, Asso, Siglon... I've got to say the one I prefer by far is the Momoi 7lb leader. The Siglon 8lb I've had was so thick it looked more like 12 lb. I've just got myself the Linesystem one and haven't tried it out but my pick from what I've used so far is Momoi.

Im a yama man from way back 6lb everywhere for me, I have been using the linesystems for a little while now as well - 8 months or so, no real difference to the yama although it does break down differently when going through some nasty territory. I still prefer the way Yama breaks down in comparison though but have a range of both on hand pretty much always, and its whatever one comes outthe tackle box first. Certainly like the linesystems in the heavier breaking strain like 20lb plus, damn unreal for Spanglies.....

Just like one of these
