I am a new member just purchased a custum build Quintrex 385, I want to fit a RT55 on the bow and wondering what size battery to get if I want to move around from spot to spot for four hours. I can get my hand on some used gel seal battery, I tried it with the car fridge and it gave me low battery in half an hour time, when I put the auto charger on, it charged for a short period of time and stop charging (full). Is the gel seal battery behave differently from a normal battery or my auto charger is not suitable (I tried two chargers already).

75 Amp as a minimum but I'd be looking at 100Amp at least if possible. The more the better as you really want to be able to get a weekend out of one if you go away etc.

Yeah i have the trojan 130 amp hour as well and it will last me two days solid. I compete electric rounds on it and in my old boat it would have plenty of guts afterwards.
Minn Kota manual recommends at least 100 A/H deep cycle battery for 55 lb Riptide.
Cheers,
Alex
