I got a Kotta all terrain 56lb cable steer leccy. Wasnt in the greatest of condition when purchased and got worse over the weekend.
Plastic casing at the top of the leccy has cracked in half and cuff that connects to the shaft is rooted. Where would I start looking for a replacement part in Perth?

probably best to try BLA for Minn Kota parts.

This isnt brand new. I purchased the boat second(10th ;)) hand and the leccy came with it. Mine is meant for freshwater only so maybe it is salt corrorsion, but seems more like the freshwater gear is not as rough and ready as the saltwater gear.

Shane......probably won't be expensive.......but be prepared to wait a while as the service I got when mine broke was absolutely atrocious. Got stuffed around big time, was supposedly sent twice...... I must of got it the third time  so don't be surprised if you have to chase them up.
The base was busted where the hold down bolts for the bracket that keeps the cables apart is screwed on with my 74lb Maxxum. Apparently it's not uncommon.

Would the refit be something I can do Rod? It isnt too hard? If so could you tell me what the damage to the wallet would be.

I've just checked this thread, and thought I'd also ask, the head of my AT40 is farked, can I get a replacement head through BLA or somewhere??
Its been araldite-ed together but has had a few too many knocks and is in need of a whole new head case. Thanks

they are a piece of cake to replace, around $30 for the lower part which screws to the shaft body. It should take about 15 mins to replace it. The bottom piece seems to bear the brunt in impacts and to be honest they are pretty tough.
The damage is not from Salt water, it's plastic and breaks on hard impact. Take a good look at your mounting and around the gunwale of your boat. Tell tale signs of impact will reveal maybe a little bit of yellow Minn Kota paint or a mark on the boat. I broke mine because of the front deck flexing on rough water crossings. The head would briefly hit the gunwale, I thought that a support post would cure it but to no avail so I'll finally get it good when I replace the front deck. It takes a little bit of trial and error.
