Front mounting a transducer

Looking at mounting a second sounder on the bow a bit stuck on how to mount transducer

can anyone help me out

Hey Seano most blokes mount the transducer to the bottom of the leccy, I'm sure somone else will be able to elaborate with a couple of pics.

Most of the big brands sell a bracket to suit the hub of the trolling motor, with the cable wound around the shaft and up to the deck.

Usually a stainless hose clamp type fixing, like this one from BLA.

I looked closely at doing this and sure its good for knowing whats directly below you, but the amount of times the leccy hits a snag or structure just doesnt seem worthwhile to me.

If your serious about doing it, maybe consider a thru hull type transducer.

Just thought i would suggest a potential alternative, but the bracket mark postes is the way to do it otherwise.

Generally no damage occurs to the transducer - it's mounted between the skeg and the prop so it's tucked away nicely.

Dave is right. If you mount the Transducer between the Skeg and the prop it is quite protected.
I mounted mine using a large stainless ring clamp and it doesnt move at all. Just like the pic mark put up.

On the 55 and 65lb Kotas you can mount the transducer between the skeg and the prop like the guys have mentioned. But on the 74lb model the skeg is right at the back of the motor head near the prop so you have to mount it forward of the skeg. So far I haven't had a problem but it is certainly more vulnerable.
