Not really I use Penn Prions and they are superb, it's a prick ya can't get them anymore. But if I did not have them I would use the New Penn Slammer 260. I think Halsey still uses Spinfishers from time to time.

I really should get a replacement handle for my 420SS, then I could use it.

I was using a 4200SS as my main light reel for many years. I still use it but only as a backup to my new Okuma Epix :)

Cant beat the drag system on the Spinfishers so it will always be my main real for ultra light at Steep Point :)

speaking of Spinfishers
does anyone know where I can get alternative drag knobs?
such as aluminium ones or the old ones
My current 8500ss knob keeps cracking and splitting
it's been replaced twice so far
only had the reel for 13mths

We have been experiencing a few drag knobs splitting of late and the factory is aware of it. We are expecting fresh drag knobs shortly. I don't beleive there is alternative drag knobs available, so unfortunalty we just have to wait. Of course it will be placed at no charge.

Hi here,
rob, the only falt i have with the smallest spinfisher i use for bream spinning is that the nut under the spool that holds the whole roter bit on keeps coming undone!!
every second trip you have to take the spool off and tighten it up .
it tends to round it off when all you have is a pair of long nose pliers in the boat at the time.
might try some loctight or something like that to stop it happening.
cheers, steve.
