If anyone cares I wanted to share the easy way of making a simple bowmount without much money. After looking at the price of bow mount leccies I set to making my own. It all worked out quite well.
I got a transom mount engine and reversed the head, and got a transom welded to the front of my boat and sourced an invertible 70 amp deep cycle for free. I went the endurah 30lb as it had an extending tiller arm perfect for the application. cant wait to see if it helps catching fish.:D

I'm stoked with the bracket welding, set me back a whole $9.00 including the ply cut to size. Just shows that it's who you know that saves you money.
I'm stoked with the whole setup though.

Looks fantastic Ben! $9!!! ... That's disgustingly cheap indeed! Go get the big one but leave some for me! Does this guy weld on side rails I wonder? ;)
Cheers LR

It's on a 3.10 Ally Craft Rover with a New 15hp mariner, It also has a casting deck and floor.
Steve: Im on the water all hours so wave me down as i love chatting to fellow breamers.
Ranger: I reakon he would do the rails for you but they will be a lot dearer. He charged a 6 pack of EB but were mates of his now.
I'm happy with the whole lot and cant wait to use it properly when the fingers better.

I just thought I'd inform you all that the budget bowmount was a total success. Fatbream and I tested her out and all went well after i got the hang of driving. The only troulbe would be the leg size on a bigger boat as mine is only just long enough when going over waves. I just need to cristen her with a decent bream now.

Midland marine just quoted me $100 to put a bracket on like yours so you got a bargain.

Geez, it took my bloke under an hour and cost a 6 pack on special for $9. The bloke who did it is a bit testy but i could give you the details if you want.
The kota works well though.

Here is a picture of the leccy on the water. On this picture, Ben was actually jumping up and down on the very tip of the bow, to test the boat, and it was really steady too!
