View Full Version : what jigheads to use

Just wondering what jig heads i should be using for 6 inch sand worm and for a gulp shrimp like they size hook weight ect.

mmmmmmmm sandworms mate i would be useing somethink a bit longer say a 1or 1/0 hook and a 1/16th round head with the shrimp i would use a hws jig head by tt or unwaghted on a worm hook.

hey mate what fish you targeting. At the moment i use jig head brought ou by TT lures. HAve also bought some squigy jig heads the new resin head ones. Was using the ball style jig heads but when i was in broome i realised the more torpedoe style seem to have a better action. They go through the water a lot better. as for sizes i use 1/16 in the TT and are about to try the size 6 hook in squidgy.

i agrre with u there timmah BUT with sandworms u want them to look like a worm not a fish thats why i ues a round head and drag it SLOWLY along the bottom.

1 and 1/0 1/16ths nitros for the worms...

The prawns a size 1 or 2...

I'd agree with the above, A size 1 jighead in 1/16 would work fine.
As for profile, a round head tends to work very well with worms, however I've had a bit of success with a bullet style head aswell.
