Navman/Hummingbird Sounder Night

Hi guys,
As stated before I am organising get to know your sounder nights.
The first one will be a Navman/Hummingbird night at Challange Marine in Balcatta. It will be on the 14th December for a 6:30 start

Now just because you dont own one of these 2 brands it doesnt mean you wont get something out of it. We are going to run through the basics of understanding your sounders. Working out what is weed and what is snags and fish etc. Over all most sounders have the same generic look to them but some have added features.
We are also organising good pricing on sounders for people that come.
I am going to limit the number of people that come to around 20-30 and see how the numbers go. There will also be a few brews and I would also say some snags. It will be after hours to allow for people coming from work to get in.

I know there was a few people that were looking at buying sounders so this really is the perfect time. It is also a chance to show the Boat Shops that support WABT is a worthwhile exersice.
So those of you that want to come can you lwet me know in this thread so I can get a good idea of numbers. If I dont get the 20-30 I need there are a few people that are outside WABT who are itching to come along. This seems to be quite a popular idea so lets support it.
I would also like to once again thank Rod from Joondalup Boat Shack for the work he has done putting me intouch with people and ofcourse Shane and all the Crew at Challange Marine for offering both their serives and premesis. I might even try to organise some giveaways for the night but by just turning up you are showing what sort of support WABT members can provide to those that support our sport. don't worry about specifically having a certain demo on hand like the Lowrance, as Bubba said the basic displays are all similar. You will pick up heaps of clues regardless of the brand being simulated. I used a Lowrance X135 for 10 months and got it down pat by using the simulator from www.lowrance.com. I now use a pair of Humminbirds and the basics are pretty similar. In no time at all I sussed the Humminbird out for manual and advanced settings by reading the manual as we crossed the Nullabor. Took all of 45 mins study and a couple of quick refreshes.

Bubba as you know lm in the market for a sounder.Was just wondering if this is likely to happen before the last week leading to Xmas as alot of people head home to familys and such. ld like to pic one up before l head to Walpole for the holidays
l would love to come as l have my eye on a special Hummingbird and would like to take advantage of any special offers on the night
Same as after Xmas most people have there time off here too.Just my thoughts.

I had thought about opening it up to others not associated with BM or WABT but the whole idea is to give BM and WABT some more exposure to show boat shops that we are worth sponsoring. It is also a way for the WABT members to give something back to those that have sponsored individuals (Don with Challange Marine, me with Navman, Dror with Hummingbird) by giving them the chance to get our business before we go elsewere.
Essentially I feel we need to suppoprt our sponsors first and then there is the posibilty of more nights with the general public if it is a success :)

Yes I do appricate that there isnt much notice (just under a week) but the guys at Challange had to organise the shop floor and chat with Hummingbird and Navman etc. So theres the date. While people are confirming they are going I wont put the final list up until prolly Sunday nite. There is alot of people wanting in and some unable to attend so we shall let the natural order take care of things :)

Something else to remember. Yardi has kindly offered to supply hot party pies etc from Mrs Mac's. So if it aint a Mrs Mac's take it back. Looks like we might also have a Sounder up for raffle (if Shane can twist Hummingbirds arm a little more :)) so remember to bring 5 bucks for tickets. If Tim Morgan or any of the Hummingbird guys read this then umm speak to Shane :). If there are any Lowrance Reps reading this or anyone that knows them can they please put me intouch with them. Regardless of who buys a shounder at the first night I still want to organise the Lowrance/Eagle one.

WAFM will also be covering the event and it will be in a following issue of WAFM for all the world to see so if you have any of your Sponsors clothing, it is a perfect time to wear it! Free exposure for them!!
