G'Day I used a few different methods of attaching my HB lures and at present am using berkley snap clips which are about twice the size of the biggest mustad fly clip. I was wondering what was the prefered method out there(and any reasons why).
Cause I have a sneeking suspicion that the berkley clip may be a little to heavy for the Scorp 35, slightly fowling its action. Then again I have had quite a few hits on the lure but it's those really quite times when you feel you should be seeing some action and nothing happens that makes me wonder if I'm letting the lure perform to its true potential.

Conventional wisdom is that a loop at the end of your leaders is the best way to connect to the lure. Either a perfection loop, or a uni knot tightened, but left open is common. The largest size Mustad fly clips are OK, but apparently they have a long-term reliability cloud hanging over them. Provided you use a new one each outing they are said to be OK.
Personally I tie a loop at the end of my leader.
