Took the new rig out for it's maiden voyage, She rides smooth, has heaps of room, tows well and goes like a scalded cat with the 60 on the back.

Caught 3 bream on an Oargee as well just to top off a great day.

Picked up the Minn kota today so if all goes well I'll be ready for the Perth round.

It's not as nice as yours (Just saw you images) but will do for now.

I'm trying to figure out how to resize pictures using micrografx, without loosing picture quality and get the size fit the site limit

Hi Ravin and Steve

I have a new 445 Widfisher and I'm in love. Mine has a 60 Yammie 4 stroke and Minn Kota riptide 55 with autopilot.

How did you fit out your rodlocker Ravin? I have fitted Berkley ring lock rod holders, a set each side of the locker. They hold 4 rods each and no worries about rods bouncing out. I still have plenty of room for tackle boxes etc.

cheers

Hi Mike

My boat is exto like Ravin's photo xpt I have a Yammie 60 four stroker and Minn Kota riptide 55 with auto pilot.

Your looking at around 22 grand with Minn Kota and a few extras.

My spec. were:

the boat had to be able to fit 4 although most outings there are only 2. Plenty of room to walk around and super stable.

had to be able to fish alround with for and aft casting pf

had to be able to sleep 2 with relative comfort

had to run shallow to get in and out of tight spots, the 445 will run in .4 on the sounder at idle speed

had to have bait and keep tank, quite fold bimini top coz I hate getting the crap burned out of me

had to handle rough weather reasonably

had to get up and go, so 60hp which pulls around 28 mph at cruise revs.

I have a Marlin tilt trailer which I think is slightly better than the quin trailer. I can drive her on no worries.

Interesting price cyclops.

I've just done the figures for the Stinger fully set up for Breamin. You're looking at around $25,000 at 4.8m to bring into WA. It's cheaper in the East as we have to ship them here. Rod lockers, 100l live well and so on. Side console.

Steve Bain (ABT) showed us one he's done for Stessl called the Magnum. Nice set-up. Very similar to the Bass Boss.

Steve I copped a look at that over the weekend and its one hell of a nice looking machine mate, I fished from the tub on Sat and Madaffs on Sunday, and talk about going from V Dub to Limo but thats what it felt like. And what a smooth and powerful ride it gave, it seems Madaff has a thing for green boats and green lures.....:D

Hi Richo,
Thanks, she is a nice boat, not at the same level as Ravin and Cyclops' wildfish.
For those who asked here are the specs
455 Trophy Hornet Eclipse 2002 hull (Pre maxi transom)
60 HP Yam 4 stroke
55 Minn Kota with Auto pilot.
36 Minn kota transom mount
Removable plumbed 80l livewell
Does 29 knots (Whatever a knot is) 2up and full livewell
Will run in 30cms from the keel
Rides smooth and handles the rough very well, ask my non boaters

I'm very happy with her and can't wait till next Friday as I'm off to Walpole,Denmark and possibly Albany for a holiday.

Now I can work this picture sotware I'll post a photo

I've just cut the hole to allow the use of the front seat on my 445 Widfisher. The Wildfisher comes with the lean seat at the front and realising that the hull is the same as the 445 trophy, which has the forward seat position, I checked her out and there is a seat pedestal tube waiting under the deck.

Best way to do it is to pull the deck up locate the hole, mark it on the underside of the deck, drill a hole about 25mm d, screw the deck back in place and cut the hole with a jig saw following the inside of the pvc liner.

It makes the boat just that little bit more virsatile. I don't know about any body else but my lower back gets a little sore sitting on the lean seat all day, and if, God forbid, you are forced to bait fish one day, its nice to sit in a chair instead of on a cocky perch.

My boat already had the hole cut for the bow seat & a plug sitting in it? Lean seats can get a bit dicey after a few hours.

Hi Ravin

I think you must have struck it lucky. If you look at the floor plan of the wildfisher in the brochure it doesnt have the foward hole .http://www.quintrex.com.au/main.asp . I didnt get plugs for the holes either. Didn't know they existed I was going to try and jerry something up coz I'm constantly fishing out bits and pieces that role into one of the floor holes. I will have to chase up some plugs.

thanks

Yeh I see what you mean about not in that layout. Seems funny though having the tube in place & not having it accessible. Maybe at CCPB they know its there & cut em themselves. Mine came with both wells plumbed as well.

Yep, mine has both plumbed.

Talk about a der head, First run out I checked that both tanks were pumping, filled them both up and sat there with the overflows trickling away. I undid the bung in the bottom of each tank when I was finished and drained them. When I got back to the ramp and undid the main bungs, 40 or more litres gushed out of her and I near s%#t my self thinking I had some huge hole in the hull. I thought about it and realised that the tanks drain into the hull and if you drain them, you need to bilge pump or run her with one of the bungs open. Of course if you are using the kill tank to keep fish you will probably keep it full till you get back to the ramp anyway. Should be named a keep tank though coz I don't kill many fish.

I did keep 3 trout alive in it all day and its far prefarable to killing them immediately and letting them sit in an esky all day. I also use the live bait well as an esky. I put a block of ice in and my drinks, water bottles, sangers in plastic containers etc. The ice lasts all day and you won't have that bloody esky to trip over. I hate junk under my feet.

I need a drawer under the consul for bits and pieces though, do you have one in your boat? I use one of those large plastic boxes to slide under there. But it would be good to have a drawer for the fiddly little things.

Regards
pete

My tanks don't drain into the hull they drain out thru a couple ports in my transom. Easier than pumping out your boat & saves stinking it up from the contents of your live well. Under my console I keep a container with a fire ex. a torch bug repellent & that kind of stuff I have 4 rods in my rod locker normally & my plastics & hard bodies fit in a compartment in the bow. I really carry minimun gear. I WILL NOT have anything on the floor bar a net. The reason I got a Hornet was for a clean boat & I won't have it cluttered. Cause if anyones gonna trip over anything its gonna be me. :D

Thanks Ravin

Gee this is a great site, I wouldnt have known if didn't ask here. I got on to the dealer I bought it from and it is supposed to have the tanks plumbed through to the ports on the back. My local dealer is going to do it for me under warranty.

Thanks for the info Ravin

Hey Steve.
I couldn't tell whether you were joking or not about not knowing what a knot is, so i'll tell you anyways.
A knot is 1 nautical mile per hour.
so, 1 knot = 1.8km/h, as 1 nautical mile = 1.8km, and one standard mile is 1.6km.
Just thought i'd let you know!!!

1 nautical mile is 1852 m to be precise.
