View Full Version : What Hardbodied Collection?
Being a soft plastics fisho I have really let my hard bodied collection slide with losses not being replaced and trebles rusted away.
I only took a relative handfull with me to the Clyde and proceeded to discover that my casting was very rusty with the 'ol minnows. Pin point accuracy with little ball head jigs was replaced with wind effected, loopy like casts that landed in every lease between Batemans Bay and the Nelligen Bridge! No hard body was spared my ruthless culling, Much loved Purple Attacks, Gold Paleamons, Lil' Rippers, Rebel Crawdads and my one and only Snap Shad which Dave lent me. All are now either in the possesion of Osyter Farmers or hanging of some lease!
I counted the cost upon getting home and found that I only have a single Attack left, which at the start of the comp was my most populous lure!
Anybody for a trip down to the Clyde for some Low-Tide lease scrounging?
Cheers

I've lost a bulk amount of sneaky's over the past few weeks. This is mainly because I'm on uni holidays and have been fishing just about every evening ... so a few losses are to be expected I suppose. However I keep snagging and losing the same colours, my favourite colours!!$#@. That being the gold and green&gold sneaky's.
Bear managed to find one of my lost sneaky's dangling from a tree last week. Sean, I want it back! :p

Finders Keepers Craig, although Bear has more lures than you could poke a stick at, and shouldn`t miss it. Are you losing them to high snags or under water???
Matt, since our Albany Rd (where hards took off again) Ive been doing nothing but working, sleeping and buying Hardbodies.
I think the key is to have a minimum of one back up for each of your favourites, and when I lose one I buy 2 more. I wouldn`t leave home without my 4 gold OarG`s (I should just have 10 of these), 3 Matty Frasers, 2 JG`s and 2 mullets, can`t afford to lose one and not have another to throw in. Not many others I have duplicated yet (only OarG`s), and just the ones I think are important.
cheers

haha yeh I agree Rich, but I put a notice about it on here for the boaters day last week, as it could be grabbed whilst on a boat, but couldn't retrieve it from the shore. No harm in trying! :p
Besides that one, I lost one to a wayward cast, which is sitting on another tree. I've lost 3 to submerged snags recently ... I have since removed ALL front/middle trebles from my lure collection. And the other day I lost my back-up gold sneaky to a nice big Breamski that smoked me @ Fishmarket :(

See, the backup became No1 lure and you should have had a backup for that or 2, it will always happen when you are down to the last of your favourites, just like (that should have been relpaced) a knot will always give on the best fish etc....
does for me anyway, or when you think just one more cast before changing the leader.
cheers
