i am heading up north in a few weeks and am trying to decide what knot to use to tie my leader on. I'm fishing 8 and 10lb braid and 20 and 30lb braid. With leaders of 20 and 80 lb penn 10x. what would be the best and strongest knot to join these.
any suggestions for web sites would be great. cheers

I use the same knot for bream- double uni to uni. If the diameters are too different and the knot doesnt form i bite the bullet and use a swivel. Maybe use a double and tie onto that?...

double uni with 80lb penn 10x?

its gonna be a very chunky knot!

for anything over bream size, I tie a bimini twist (40-50 turns) to an improved albright.

you will needs gloves tho' to tighten the albright, otherwise, you could slice your fingers off with the braid!!!:p :p :p

do ya have to use a bimini twist or can ya just use an albright knot to join your leader and main line

I really dont go heavier than 50lb onto 7kg braid but yes it does get chunky- i just put up with it. Its mainly for bait fishing in up to 6m on my baitcaster outfit so i just click freespool and let the tide do the rest up there. If i hook something that bites through on 50lb then its more than likely a shark up that way. Bottom bouncing is a different story- swivels are a must for me
