can someone tell if you need to have a constant trickle charge on your battery when not in use. I have heard that this is not good for your battery but the guy from the boat shop said that its ok because its only 2amps and this actualy helps maintain the battery????.
Also is there any way to get more hours out of your battery when in use.

I suppose it would be dependent on your charger and whether it actually slows down how much it charges when the battery fills up or if it cranks away all the time.

I was unsure so i charge it to full, store it, then the night before double check the charge and do the hydrometer tests, top up with distilled water and charge if it seems low. Although it hasnt yet as its only a few months old.

And every now and then i discharge it with a spotlight down to when the light is only just visible, then let it rest and pump it full again.

as u might have seem from the other threads ivre been doing a bit of research,so heres wat i know on charging,u can just use a normal charger but u have to take it off the minute it is fully charged or u mess up the deep cycle, however if u use a trickkle charge u can just leave it on and not mess the deep-cycle of the thing and,by the time u go fishing u will have totally full charge, hth.
