Squidgy Jig-head choice?

Hey,

I'm due for my next batch of jighead's since I lost pretty much all my lead's at the Melbourne social on the nong'...

What sizes are everyone here using on bream? I am thinking 1.5 gram with a size 4 hook, but some of my mate's say it is too heavy for finnesse bream spinning. :confused: :eek:

Any advice is appreciated.

well id go a pack of 1g#6,cause they suit your grassminnows and small paddletails,and get urselof a pack of 1.5/2g #4 for ur bigger sps like wrigglers bms etc,hth.

Well it all depends on what lure your using, what the current/tidal movement is like, how the fish are acting etc etc.

I'd go with 1/16th size 4 as your base jighead. I think that equals out at around 2g's or maybe a lil less.

Finesse? kiddo this word gets chucked around a lot and is a bit of a wank imho, use whatever weight suits the terrain and casting distance, depth, tidal flow ect, no use using 1gm jigs if you cant cast and they dont get down to the fish.

You just have to have a variety of weights with you. I use 1/22 or less in the yarra, I use 1/16 or higher for redfin in lakes, I use size 1 hooks on 1/4 oz for couta and then, there's the resin heads... Size 4 hooks are the best size because they're not too small and not too big.
